Please note that LTA’s e-services for Vocational Licence (VL) will be transitioning from the current LicenceOne (L1) portal, also known as GoBusiness Licensing (GBL), to the new GoBusiness (GB) portal which is scheduled to go-live on 14 January 2025.

To facilitate the transition to the new GB portal, VL digital services (e.g. GBL and AXS) will not be available from 6 January 2025, 12:00 AM till 14 January 2025, 6:00 PM.

To avoid delays on your VL application/renewal, kindly perform and complete your VL transaction(s) early (e.g. submission of pending documents, completion of renewal requirements and application/renewal fee, etc) before 6 January 2025.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Cessation of Mailing Address

Please note that from February 2025, LTA will only use the registered address of Vocational Licence holders, as registered with ICA, for all Vocational Licence notices.

As a result, LTA will no longer use mailing addresses to send Vocational Licence notices.

This adjustment will ensure the timely delivery of Vocational Licence notices to the registered addresses of all Vocational Licence holders.

Understanding vocational licence

To drive a taxi, private hire car or bus, or to work as a school bus attendant, you must have a vocational licence. Different vocational licences have different requirements.

The application process will take about 15 working days, if all the documents are in order.

Validity period for a vocational licence

Once your vocational licence is issued, it is valid for 3 years. However, if you are 67 years and above, the validity period of your vocational licence may be shorter. The statutory age limit for a vocational licence to drive vehicles is 75 years old. There is no statutory age limit set for a Bus Attendant's Vocational Licence (BAVL) holder.

Your vocational licence will be revoked if you are convicted in court, or if your driving licence has been disqualified or suspended for one year or more.
